"We have every reason and opportunity,” he remarked. “Our domestic potential in training oil specialists and joint activity with foreign companies operating in Azerbaijan will allow the export of human resources worldwide in the future, just as Brazil exports its football players."
He pointed out that Azerbaijan also had several research institutes focusing on the oil sector.
"In the future, the Baku Higher Oil School will also be more closely engaged in research activity," he said.
The history of the Azerbaijani oil industry`s development dates back to 1847, when oil was extracted from wells drilled mechanically. Due to this oil strategy, Azerbaijan became the first country to make use of the huge energy potential of the Caspian Sea, forming a qualitatively new economic model for the development of the region. At present, Azerbaijan is one of the world`s oil centers.
