Earlier, an agreement between the UAE and the European Union (EU) to waive visas for the Schengen area for UAE citizens was also approved.
Currently, six airports carrying out international passenger transportation operate in Azerbaijan. These airports are located in Baku, Nakhchivan, Ganja, Lankaran, Zagatala and Gabala. The largest one is the Heydar Aliyev International Airport (Baku) with annual passenger transportation of one million people.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and UAE stood at $46.78 million as of Jan.-Sept. 2015, of which $42.2 million accounted for the import from Azerbaijan, according to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.
