Azerbaijan is one of the 158 states that have ratified the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment and so is required to undergo regular examinations of its record before the Committee of 10 independent experts, the UN Baku Office told.
The Committee’s dialogue with the delegation from the Government of Azerbaijan will be from 10:00-13:00 (13:00 – 16:00 in Baku) on 11 November and from 15:00-18:00 on 12. The Committee will publish its concluding observations here on Wednesday 9 December.
A news conference is scheduled for 12:30 on 9 December at Palais des Nations in Geneva when the Committee will discuss its concluding observations on Azerbaijan and the other countries being reviewed –Liechtenstein Austria, Denmark, China and Jordan.
