The information war against Azerbaijan is caused by its independent and sovereign policy, Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency`s Director General Dmitry Kiselev said on Tuesday.
He made the remarks at the Forum of European and Asian Media (FEAM) in Moscow.
According to him, the main cause of the Western information war and negative attitude toward Azerbaijan is the country’s independent policy pursued under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
“Azerbaijan is developing day-by-day. Its policy of integration into Europe and refusal to entry to NATO is not accepted by the West. Today, Azerbaijan is pursuing a more independent and sovereign policy than most European countries. Let’s take the European countries, for instance the UK. These countries almost hang upon the words of the US. These countries take the US position as a basis for their foreign policy. Unlike these countries, Azerbaijan is pursuing an independent policy and in many cases, undergoes unjust pressure from the West”, Kiselev added.
