Azerbaijani writers arrested in Iran
Azerbaijani writer, activist Elshen Boyukvand was arrested while walking in a park in Mughan, Iran.
Now his relatives looking for him as there is no information was given on concrete place he detained.

Besides Elshen, more than 20 activists were arrested in Mughan province of Iran, Gunaz.Tv reports. They are:

Nadir Azizi (poet)

Elshen Boyukvand (poet)

Vahid Nariman

Atabek Sepehri

Ali Ahmedi

Arman Musevi

Ramin Azizpour

Shahram Ruh.

As AzVision.az reports, mass protests of Azerbaijanis have been sparked in many Iranian cities. Protests were against insulting Azerbaijanis on the Iranian TV channel "Kanal 2".

Demonstrations were held in Tabriz, Urmia, Ardabil, Zanjan, Meshkin cities, as well as in capital Tehran. Protesters chanted "We are the Turks," "Death to racism", "Long live Azerbaijan", etc.

Clashes were reported between protesters and police. There are detainees. In Tabriz police used tear gas to disperse the demonstrators.

The TV channel "Sahar" announced that broadcasting of TV program, which sounded insults, was suspended and creative staff were punished.
