Estonian Police Fire Rubber Bullets at Refugees in Migrant Center
Estonian police fired rubber bullets at refugees to restore order in a migrant center, a spokeswoman for the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board said Wednesday.
Several dozen migrants residing in a center in the village of Harku organized a sit-in blocking a corridor and refusing to move, according to spokeswoman Marie Aava. The refugees did not obey orders for two hours before police decided to act, Aava added.

“Police had to use force and apply non-lethal weapons, including rubber bullets, and then brought the illegal migrants to their rooms,” the spokeswoman said, as broadcast by local television.

According to the police, the unrest began after a resident in the center started to act “aggressively,” and was subsequently isolated by local authorities, causing migrant protests.
