Qatar announces its first fatality in Saudi-led war in Yemen
Qatar says one of its soldiers fighting with a Saudi-led coalition in Yemen against the Shiite rebels there has been killed
Foreign Minister Khalid Bin Mohammed al-Attiyah announced the death Wednesday on Twitter, without identifying the soldier or saying how or when he was killed.

The state-run Qatar News Agency didn`t immediately report on the death.

Yemen`s fighting pits Shiite rebels known as Houthis and allied army units against forces loyal to the internationally recognized government, as well as southern separatists and militants.

The Saudi-led force joined the fighting in March, backing the internationally recognized government. Its partners have suffered casualties, such as in a September missile attack that killed 52 Emirati troops, 10 soldiers from Saudi Arabia and five from Bahrain.
