Former Directorate Chief of MNS sentenced to pre-trial detention

Sabail District Court has sentenced former Chief of the Main Directorate of Counter-intelligence of the Ministry of National Security, Colonel Miraziz Asgarov to 3-month pre-trial detention upon the appeal of the Prosecutor General

Baku Court of Appeal rejected Asgarov’s appeal.

Asgarov is charged under the Articles# 182.3.2 (Extortion with a purpose of occupying large size of property), 308.2 (Abusing official powers), 309.2 (Excess of official powers), 311.3.3 (Reception of a bribe in the large amount) of the Criminal Code.
