Suicide Bombing Kills at Least 18, Injures 41 in Baghdad
At least 18 people lost their lives and 41 were wounded in southwestern Baghdad when a suicide bomber blew off his explosive belt on Friday, according to local police and medical sources.
The tragedy occurred during a funeral of pro-government Shiite fighter in the Al-Ashara al-Mubashareen mosque in the Amil area. The fighter who was being buried belonged to the Popular Mobilization units — a paramilitary group that is fighting against ISIL terrorists.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

The notorious Islamic State terrorist group has carried terrorist attacks in Iraq before.
The Islamic State has taken over large parts of Iraq since 2014, declared a caliphate on the territories under its control and committed numerous human rights atrocities in the country.
