Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan plays important role in combating int
As a country having suffered various terrorist attacks in the past, Azerbaijan plays an important role in the fight against international terrorism and this role is praised by the international community, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said on Nov.17.

President Aliyev made the remarks during Leaders` Forum at the 38th session of UNESCO`s General Conference in Paris.

The president offered condolences to the French people over the Nov.13 terrorist attacks in Paris, noting that Azerbaijan stands by the people of France to share their sorrow.

The recent terrorist attacks proved the international community needs to join forces in fighting this evil, he added.

President Aliyev noted that no country in the world is safe from terrorist acts. So therefore, only united international efforts could help us in countering this evil.
