The State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing People has released information on the handover of an Armenian soldier.
In compliance with the norms of international law, the Republic of Azerbaijan handed over Andranik Araratovich Grigoryan, an Armenian soldier (1991) who voluntarily surrendered to the Azerbaijani side on 22 March 2015, to the opposite side on 18 November 2015, the commission told.
Despite the agreement reached beforehand, the Armenian side was seen filming the handover process. So the State Commission appealed to the ICRC on the matter and the filming was then prevented.
The process was carried out by the State Committee on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing People and the Defense Ministry through the mediation of the ICRC.
