16 years passed since Azerbaijan joined Charter for European Security
Azerbaijan joined the Charter for European security 16 years ago.
Azerbaijan joined the Charter for European Security of Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on November 18, 1999.

OSCE is a sole political organization covering all countries of the European continent. The Republic of Azerbaijan joined the main documents of the organization such as OSCE Helsinki Final Act (1992), the Charter of Paris and the Charter for European Security (1999).

Cooperation with the OSCE framework has an important place in the foreign policy of the Republic of Azerbaijan resolving Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict.

Additioanlly, Azerbaijan collaborates with the OSCE in the field of democratization. It includes observation of elections, projects realized through the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, etc.
