Our people will never allow creation of 2nd Armenian state in Azerbaijan - President
The international and interfaith relations in Azerbaijan are at a high level. The state policy and public support form a unity in this issue, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.

President Aliyev made the remarks at the first session of Azerbaijan’s parliament of the fifth convocation on Nov.24.

The head of state said that new challenges lay ahead the newly-formed parliament.

“Problems still exist and we need to focus on the settlement of these problems. The main problem is the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” he said.

Armenia is not interested in the settlement of the conflict, President Aliyev noted.

“International law and historical justice support Azerbaijan, and the UN and other international organizations have adopted decisions and resolutions on the conflict settlement,” Aliyev said, stressing that the Azerbaijani people will never allow the creation of a second Armenian state in Azerbaijani territory.

The president said the work of the OSCE Minsk Group is not yet effective. “However, the diplomatic and political efforts will be continued. The conflict must be settled within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan,” he added.

He mentioned that the issue of strengthening the military potential of Azerbaijan is a priority and it is important for the country’s security.
