Destruction of mosques in occupied territories
ISESCO has always supported Azerbaijan’s just stance in regard to the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.

He made the remarks on Thursday at the 12th session of the ISESCO General Conference in Baku.

The head of state said the conflict has been lasting for year, 20 percent of Azerbaijani lands are under occupation and over a million Azerbaijanis became refugees and IDPs.

“Our people underwent ethnic cleansing, the Khojaly genocide took place. Armenia turns a blind eye to the resolutions and decisions of international organizations,” President Aliyev noted.

Nagorno-Karabakh is a native Azerbaijan land, the president said, stressing the importance of resolving the conflict within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

President Ilham Aliyev added that the OSCE mission sent to the occupied territories learned that every thing in those areas, including 10 mosques, has been demolished. “This is vandalism and [an act of] terror against Islamic culture,” he noted.
