CMO says no religious strife in Azerbaijan
"Interfaith and intersect relations in Azerbaijan are normal", Chairman of Caucasian Muslims Office Sheihk-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade said at the meeting with the delegation led by Iranian Minister of Education Ali Asghar Fani.
Pashazade noted that there were 17 mosques in Azerbaijan when it gained independence. After independence, the number of mosques increases. He also noted that the percentage ratio between Shiites and Sunnites is not precise: “We successfully solved the inter-sect relations in Azerbaijan. There is no religious strife in Azerbaijan”.
