Azerbaijan`s population reaches 9.7 m
Azerbaijan`s population hit 9,676,500 people as of October 1, 2015, according to the country`s State Statistical Committee.
The population density was 112 people per a square kilometer, the committee said.

Official figures also suggest that 53.1 percent of the population lives in cities and towns, while 46.9 percent in villages.

Some 123,300 children were born in the country in 9 months of the last year, of them 53.2 percent were boys, while 46.8 percent girls, the committee said.
