Belgian police detain suspect in special operation near Mons
Belgian police on Saturday carried out a special operation on the outskirts of the city of Mons, detaining a suspect on unspecified charges.
A number of ambulances, as well a police and military vehicles, have arrived in the area, according to the RTL Info channel.

The arrested suspect was reportedly injured during the operation, the media reported.
The police have not yet provided information on whether the raid was connected to the anti-terror operations conducted in the country in the aftermath of the Paris attacks earlier this month.

Belgium has been on high terror alert since the November 13 terrorist attacks in Paris killed 130 people, and injured over 360. A number of attack perpetrators were linked to Belgium, including mastermind Abdelhamid Abaaoud.
