Religious figure should hold Koran not weapon or grenade in hand
No one can impose conditions on the state, said Siyavush Novruzov, chairman of the parliamentary Committee on public associations and religious communities.
He made the remarks commenting on the recent incident in the Nardaran township of Baku.

Novruzov said that an Azerbaijani citizen must obey the law, and there should be no discrimination.

“It is not right to say the state is afraid of any settlement or village. A religious figure should hold Quran not weapon or grenade in hand. This is just a matter of security. The Azerbaijani law-enforcement authorities will take necessary steps so that each citizen should obey the law and protect stability,” he noted.

The MP mentioned that the Nardaran incident is not a simple criminal incident.

“We are talking about a specialized and specially-trained gang. Most of the detainees are not from Nardaran, but from other districts and they have been trained in the territory of another country. This is a gang created for committing terror attacks and creating fear among people. This is a terrorist group. They intended to organize conspiracy against state and governments representatives and change the structure of the Constitution”, he completed.
