In the appeal, the heads of religious confessions operating in Azerbaijan express their gratitude to the head of state for having been awarded the “Honorary diploma of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan” on the International Day of Tolerance, for their contributions to the development of multicultural traditions and interfaith relations, the CMO told, AzVision.az reports.
The appeal goes on to mention that the sustainable environment of tolerance currently dominant in Azerbaijan is a historical achievement that forms the basis of national solidarity and socio-political stability in our society. Regardless of their faith, language, and ethnicity, all citizens of Azerbaijan enjoy freedoms of speech, conscience, and religion as well as state-religion relationship and democratic-legal conditions.
They also express hope that all conflicts including the conflict over ancient Azerbaijani land Nagorno-Karabakh soon get peacefully resolved in line with international law.
