Azerbaijani parliament speaker to meet with Kazakh president
A delegation of the Azerbaijani parliament led by Speaker Ogtay Asadov will visit Astana on Dec.2 to attend the 6th plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries (TurkPA).
The Azerbaijani delegation includes parliamentary committee chairman Ahliman Amiraslanov, MPs Chingiz Ganizade, Ilham Aliyev, Sadagat Valiyeva, Sevinj Huseynova, head of the parliament’s office Safa Mirzayev and other officials.

Reports on recent elections in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will be discussed at the 6th session of TurkPA. The session will end with the adoption of the Astana Declaration.

The Azerbaijani delegation will also join a meeting of the TurkPA Council planned to be held on the sidelines of the 6th plenary session.

Azerbaijani parliament speaker Ogtay Asadov will speak about the activity of Azerbaijan during its presidency of the TurkPA Council, the cooperation among the member countries on exchange of information as well as other issues on the agenda.

The Azerbaijani delegation is also expected to attend an international conference “Statehood and Parliamentarism in the Great Steppe” to be held as part of the plenary session and to visit the Turkic Academy, National Museum of Kazakhstan and library of the First President of the Kazakhstan.

Asadov is scheduled to meet with the Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and heads of the delegations that will join the session.

The visit will end on Dec. 4.
