Azerbaijan to prosecute foreigners for disseminating religious propaganda
Azerbaijan will penalize foreigners and stateless persons if they are found guilty of disseminating religious propaganda.
The proposed amendment to the Criminal Code has been put up for discussion at today’s joint meeting of the parliamentary committee on legal policy and state building, and the committee on public unions and religious organizations.

With the proposed Article 168-1.2, foreigners and stateless persons will be sentenced to one to two years in prison for disseminating religious propaganda.

If repeated [by the offender] or done by a group of people or an organized group on preliminary arrangement, the prison term will be two to five years.
