Azerbaijan receives over 2,200 freight cars from Russia
Azerbaijan has received 2,255 new railroad freight cars from Russia since early 2015, spokesperson of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Nadir Azmammadov told on Dec.2.
He said that 301 of them are covered wagons, 200 - platforms for transporting large-capacity containers, 1,000 - gondolas, 450 – tank cars, 204 – grain tankers, 100 – hopper cars.

Earlier in March, head of Azerbaijan Railways Javid Gurbanov met with Oleg Sienko, chief executive officer of Russia’s Research and Production Corporation Uralvagonzavod.

During the meeting, the sides signed a contract for delivering 2,900 truck cars of various types from Russia to Azerbaijan Railways.

The first cars on request of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC were delivered to Azerbaijan on Apr.25, 2015.
