1,033 foreigners obtained Azerbaijani citizenship in last seven years
Over the last seven years, as many as 1,033 stateless persons have acquired the citizenship of Azerbaijan upon the orders of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
This statement was made at the forum “Open Door Day” organized by the State Migration Service in Azerbaijan’s Gakh district.

It was noted that during the reporting period, 32,016 persons have been granted the right to the Azerbaijani citizenship and provided with documents confirming the identity of the citizen of Azerbaijan.

The forum participants regarded the measures taken by the Azerbaijani government to eliminate cases of statelessness as a single-minded and humanitarian policy of the state.
