Separatists in Luhansk kill Azerbaijani diaspora leader
Another three Azerbaijanis were wounded and gone missing

The Azerbaijani embassy in Ukraine is verifying the information spread by several Ukrainian media outlets about the murder of an Azerbaijani in the country`s Luhansk province, first secretary at Azerbaijani embassy in Ukraine, Asim Osmanov told on July 31.

53-year-old Telman Sadi oglu Jafarov, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijanis Congress in Ukraine`s Luhansk province, has been shot dead by separatists.

The incident happened near Kamenko village in the vicinity of Luhansk yesterday, Chairman of the Luhansk Azerbaijanis Congress Rasim Ughurluyev told.

Jafarov`s body has remained in the area controlled by separatists and not been taken from there yet.

Apart from Jafarov, the other three Azerbaijanis—Mahir, Nurlan, and Elman—were wounded during the shootings.

Asim Osmanov, First secretary for consular affairs of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Ukraine, told the fact will be investigated.
