Switzerland and Azerbaijan may cancel the visa regime.

The statement came from Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev this Friday.

According to him, Azerbaijan and Switzerland have concluded negotiations on visa facilitation and readmission agreements.

"We hope that these documents will be signed and ratified in the near future", he said.

After completion of this process the holders of diplomatic and official passports can travel without a visa, and the number of required documents and fee will be reduced for ordinary residents.

"In the future, we can also come to the question of the abolition of visas" he added.

Mammadguliyev noted that 240 Azerbaijanis study in Swiss universities, 70 of them study by the state program.
