At Least 13 Die as Train Hits Car in Eastern India
At least 13 people were killed in eastern India as a train collided with a car, local media reported Tuesday, citing the police.
According to the NDTV television channel, the incident took place at an unmanned crossing in the state of Jharkhand. The car’s tire got trapped in the railway, and the vehicle was hit and carried forward by he train.

The Indian railroad network is one of the largest in the world, serving around 23 million passengers a day. According to the Indian High Level Safety Review Committee, 15,000 people die every year in railway accidents in India.

Typical accidents include collisions and derailments.
