Police have taken tight security measures around the consulate general building, located in İstanbul’s Sarıyer since Wednesday morning. All the roads, heading to consulate general, were closed. At the entrances, on which barriers were put by the police, police established search points. Even the residents of the neighborhood could enter the area after the police search. Anti-riot water cannon vehicles (TOMA) and other armored vehicles were deployed at around the consulate general.
A woman, after a body search, said that the security measures have been increased for one week. The woman, “They make body search at the entrances and exits. They already know us. We have been residing here for five years. They close the roads suddenly. We already got used to it,” also added in her speech.
