Turkey, in turn has extended the period of permanent stay of buses and large-capacity vehicles from Azerbaijan on the country’s territory.
After the deterioration of relations between Russia and Turkey due to the SU-24 incident, Russia banned the entry of trucks from Turkey to its territory. Therefore, this cargo was transported to Central Asian countries through Azerbaijan.
Akif Mustafayev, national secretary, member of the Governmental Commission on the Development of TRACECA (Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia) said that Azerbaijan is ready to increase this cargo flow.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkey has neared $1.18 billion of which $918.5 million accounted for the import from Turkey, according to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.
