German FM welcomes suspension of prison sentence against Leyla Yunus

German FM welcomes suspension of prison sentence against Leyla Yunus

I welcome the decision by a court in Baku to suspend the prison sentence on probation against Azerbaijani human rights defender Leyla Yunus, Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said in a statement.

“This is an important humanitarian step. Leyla Yunus and her husband Arif Yunusov must now receive the medical care they urgently need outside prison as a matter of priority”, said the German FM.
