Li Keqiang expressed his gratitude for Azerbaijani president’s visiting China. He stressed that our bilateral links have developed since establishment of diplomatic relations and this visit will contribute to expansion of cooperation. The Premier noted that Chinese companies are interested in close participation in the spheres of infrastructure, production, energy, railway and creation of technoparks in Azerbaijan, which have useful geographical position, rich natural resources, and energy potential. He said his country is able to participate in exploitation of natural resources and oil and gas spheres of Azerbaijan. Keqiang also noted possibility of more expansion of humanitarian, educational, ICT cooperation.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his assurance that results of visit to China will make our countries closer. Azerbaijan attaches great importance to cooperation with China, they have active political links and successfully cooperate in the international organizations. President Aliyev also underlined that there is a good potential for economic cooperation and invited Chinese companies to operate in Azerbaijanas investor and contractor. Head of the state said he is interested in extension of cooperation with Chinese companies in Azerbaijan’s industrial production, establishment of technoparks and ICT.
President Aliyev also noted that Azerbaijan welcomes the initiative of creation of economic line on ancient Silk Road put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping. Head of the state stressed Azerbaijan also is located on the ancient Silk Road and our country has infrastructural opportunities to export Chinese products to Turkey and Europe. President Aliyev noted that the road through Azerbaijan may be the shortest way to deliver Chinese products to Europe: “Azerbaijan is ready to contribute in this sphere. Azerbaijan may play an important role in both East-West and North-South transit marine projects and takes concrete steps in this sphere”.
He said capital was invested in our transport infrastructure and this will be useful for both our neighbors and partners. The head of state also noted that there is a good potential for extension of cooperation in ICT, capital investment, agriculture, and tourism.
The president also stressed that political links between Azerbaijan and China develop successfully, Azerbaijan joined Shanghai Cooperation Organization with the status of “Partner on Dialogue”. Links with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization are one of the priorities for Azerbaijan’s foreign policy. Moreover, our countries successfully cooperate in the UN and other international organizations.
