The search work is currently underway at a distance of 100-150 kilometers from the platform No.10 of the Guneshli oil field, where the fire occurred. In addition, search is carried out along the coast from both the air and land.
Lifejackets, buoys and parts of the lifeboat from the oil platform No.10 have been found as a result of the search work. Search operation continues, taking into account the wind direction, underwater currents and places of detection of the objects found.
The operational headquarters estimate the current situation and take necessary measures.
On Dec.10, the Azerbaijani state border service chief, colonel general Elchin Guliyev and head of the Azerbaijani ministry of emergency situations, colonel-general Kamaladdin Heydarov have reviewed from the helicopter the water area, where the emergency case took place, as well as the search area. As a result, it was decided to extend the search area with the attraction of additional forces and resources.
