Russian envoy calls accusations against ODIHR objective
Accusations against the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) are objective, Russia`s OSCE envoy Alexander Lukashevich said in an interview with Kommersant newspaper.
Not only Russia, but other OSCE member countries have expressed criticism about the ODIHR, he said.

“The boycott of election monitoring in Azerbaijan is the last obvious example of the ODIHR’s biased position and unwillingness to engage in dialogue. The ODIHR refused to observe the election in Azerbaijani side as the country offered the organizations to send fewer observes,” the envoy noted

Lukashevich went on to add that the Bureau that is a part of the OSCE executive structures is operation as an autonomous organization and such activities of the ODIHR raise questions.

For comparison, over the last three years, the ODIHR has sent 7,000 observers to CIS countries and over 200 observers to the EU member states, the envoy stressed.
