New penalties determined for theft of natural gas and electric power
Azerbaijan is set to impose new penalties for theft of natural gas, electric power and thermal energy are being determined in Azerbaijan.
The first paragraph of article #282 of the newly-developed Code of Administrative Offences envisages that individuals will face fines from AZN 100 up to AZN 150, officials from AZN 800 up to AZN 1,000, legal entities from AZN 2,000 up to AZN 2,500 for a damage up to AZN 1,000 as a result of the theft of natural gas, electric power and thermal energy.

The Code envisages only fines for violation of the rules on the use of natural gas, electric power and thermal energy. Individuals face fines from AZN 30 up to AZN 40, officials from AZN 70 up to AZN 90, legal entities from AZN 250 up to AZN 300 for violation of the rules. This paragraph is also effective in the new Code.

The draft law on the Code of Administrative Offences put forth by the Azerbaijani president will be tabled at the upcoming plenary session of the parliament.
