Working Group on Guneshli field incident holds meeting
Working Group created on December 10 in connection with the fire on the offshore platform #10 at the Gunashli field held next meeting.
SOCAR Press service told APA that the meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Tapdig Amiraslanov, officials of Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, SOCAR Vice-Presidents Rafiga Huseynzade, Rahman Gurbanov, as well as BP Vice-President Robert Watt and specialists.

The meeting focused on discussion of possible ecological problems and estimation and prevention of oil spill. It was decided to get daily shootings of the area from Azercosmos to determine coordinates of via helicopters and vessels and take necessary measures. Oil spill boom will be installed on the surface of the water.

As a result of the meeting, the Group members went to the site and they observed no oil spill. In order to conduct regular observation and research, a monitoring vessel and 6 other vessels equipped with special devices against oil spill have been sent to the site.
