World commemorates Azerbaijan`s National Leader Heydar Aliyev
Azerbaijan`s embassy to Ethiopia has organized an event commemorating the 12th anniversary of the death of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Addressing the event, ambassador Elman Abdullayev spoke of national leader, architect and founder of the modern, independent Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev`s exceptional services in revival and development of the country.

Ethiopian journalist Araya Getachew, who has been in Azerbaijan and wrote a number of articles about Azerbaijani truths, Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan, in turn, addressed the event, and shared his impressions on Azerbaijan. Araya Getachew described Azerbaijan as an “example to the world”.

The attendees have also watched a film dedicated to national leader Heydar Aliyev`s life and activity.

Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Sweden has hosted an event commemorating the 12th anniversary of the death of national leader Heydar Aliyev in Fittja mosque in Stockholm.

Participants in the event included representatives of Azerbaijani and Turkish diaspora organizations, employees of Azerbaijani and Turkish embassies in Sweden, public figures and media representatives.

Addressing the event, Jihad Kulay, imam of Fittja Mosque, said that today`s Friday prayers will be said for the great leader of Azerbaijan.

Counselor for Religious Affairs at the Turkish Embassy Fatih Karaca said that national leader Heydar Aliyev was one of the greatest personalities in the history of the Turkic world.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Sweden Adish Mammadov said:" Every nation has some personalities in the history who support them in difficult days and become true leaders of their people, who undertake all problems and move their nation from darkness to light with their intelligence and potential. Heydar Aliyev was such a historical figure and a leader."

Describing Heydar Aliyev as the founder of Azerbaijani statehood, the Ambassador briefed the participants on political and state activities of the national leader.

Azerbaijan`s embassy to Bosnia and Herzegovina has organized an event commemorating the 12th anniversary of the death of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the architect and founder of the modern, independent Azerbaijan.

The event started with the anthems of the two countries.

After a minute of silence was observed, Azerbaijani diplomat Ismayil Jafarov spoke of the life and state activities of national leader Heydar Aliyev. He noted thanks to national leader Heydar Aliyev`s tireless activity and far-sighted policy Azerbaijan`s independence was protected and developed.

“Under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, who continues the political course of the National Leader, Azerbaijan became an influential country in an international level, and a leader in the region,” he added.

Then, the attendees watched a film about national leader Heydar Aliyev`s life and political activity. The embassy has also organized a photo exhibition dedicated to the National Leader.

Azerbaijan`s embassy to Serbia has organized an event commemorating the 12th anniversary of the death of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

The event brought together employees of the embassy, MPs and state officials of Serbia, representatives of the city Mayor`s Office, members of Azerbaijan Culture Center, Serbia-Azerbaijan Trade Chamber and Serbia-Azerbaijan Friendship Society and students.

Ambassador Eldar Hasanov spoke of the life and activity of national leader Heydar Aliyev, and his services to protect and strengthen the independence of Azerbaijan.

“This political course, today is being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev,” he added. The attendees also watched a film dedicated to Heydar Aliyev`s life and activity.

The embassy has also organized an exhibition. Prior to the event, the attendees visited the National Leader`s monument in the Tasmajdan Park, and observed a minute of silence.
