Information about the establishment of the French - Nagorno-Karabakh friendship group in the French parliament is untrue, French Ambassador to Baku Pascal Monnier said.
According to him, several members of parliament on their personal initiative, set up a group of friendship, which has no official status.
"As you know, France does not recognize the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh. This is part of Azerbaijan. Our position on this issue remains unchanged," said Monnier.
Meanwhile, the ambassador noted that in France, everyone has the right to speak on a particular issue, but their words are not the official position of Paris.
"I think that there is no reason for concern," said the French diplomat.
