The latest clashes have resulted in more than 30 deaths, a number not seen since a ceasefire was established 20 years ago in 1994, member of Kitchener-Conestoga parliament said in a statement.
“I am especially concerned by credible allegations that torture is occurring,” noted Albrecht, a firm proponent of religious freedom, “there is no military solution to this crisis; and such violations of international law can only stir the resentment of future generations.”
“Canada believes problems such as these are best solved through negotiations and dialogue.
“It’s time that Region’s leaders pursued a legacy of peace and bridge-building. Too much blood has been spilled for no good.”
