I was deeply saddened to hear about the fire that broke out aboard an offshore oil rig on 4 December.
On behalf of the Government and the people of the United Kingdom, I would like to offer my sincere condolences to those families who lost loved ones in this tragic accident and express my support for the bravery of those rescue workers who continue to search for the missing.
My deepest sympathies are with you and the people of Azerbaijan at this difficult time.
