Women banned from Christian shelter over fears of `Ungodly` Sex
Just days before Christmas, a so-called Christian homeless shelter in Kentucky has chosen to cleanse itself from sin by denying women assistance, in a misguided attempt to prevent them from having "ungodly" sex with male residents.
Emergency Christian Ministries, based in Williamsburg, KY, claimed it stopped accommodating women because they would potentially tempt males to have sex with them while at the shelter, WYMT reported.

Billy Woodward, the establishment‘s director, claimed that such behavior would not be tolerated, especially during holiday season.

“They [women] may want to meet or slip in a room occasionally, we can’t have that,” Woodward claimed. “It seems like these last days it’s getting worse … the ungodly type. If they done it right, it would be fine. But, you know, they go overboard with it.”

Children were also denied shelter, reportedly because they typically arrive with their mothers, various media have reported. Official data confirms the claim. According to the National Center on Family Homelessness, roughly 80 percent of homeless women have children.

Roddy Harrison, a Williamsburg mayor, strongly criticized the shelter. “I guess I’m a little old school, but the first people off the boat were the women and children,” Harrison said.

Director Woodward declared that his actions were appropriate, adding that they were based on his reading of portions of the Bible.

Since the initiative was implemented, up to a dozen women have been expelled from the shelter. The nearest shelter that accepts women in need is a 40-minute drive away.
