Abbaszade said that in 2014, more than 125,000 children, born in 1998-1999, attended the 1st grade.
“Half of them were girls. During final examinations for the 9th grade, it was revealed that only 3.5 percent of them failed to reach the 9th grade. It means that 4,500 children couldn’t get compulsory education. 600 of them were boys. This process is going on every year,” she added.
The SSAC chairperson noted that the number of girls entering universities over 5 years is more than the number of boys. “However, the number of girls submitting documents to the universities decreased in recent years. 49,000 boys and 43,000 girls submitted documents to the universities this year, while the girls were more successful during the entrance exams,” she said.
