Haqiqatpour will be arrested once he enters Azerbaijan, he said.
According to Novruzov, during his activity in Azerbaijan in 1993, Iranian army general Haqiqatpour visited a number of military units and passed on information about their locations to Armenians.
“In this regard, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of National Security opened a criminal case in 1994. Therefore Haqiqatpour can not come to Azerbaijan, in this case he will be immediately arrested,” he noted.
Novruzov went on to add that the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry’s former leadership allocated a car to Haqiqatpour when he was an authorized representative of Iran’s military in Azerbaijan.
Haqiqatpour is a professional intelligence officer of Iran`s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, according to Novruzov.
“Haqiqatpour rented apartment 36, building 38, Nakhchivani str at the “8th km” area of Baku on 27 May 1992. From there they have passed on the information. They have driven a QAZ 31 and Niva car (No. C 0157AZ). Those who worked with him were arrested. I have their testimony. Leading this group is Iranian army general Haqiqatpour,” he stressed.
“We have the testimonies of those who worked with him at the time. A great deal of facts has been gathered. Among them are some people from parts of Azerbaijan, including Nardaran. He used to take them with him to Iran. They admit themselves that there were also Armenians among them when they were being trained by Haqiqatpour’s group in Iran. And the trainings were aimed at carrying out diversions against Azerbaijan. Some in Iran are still trying to influence devout Nardaran residents by a variety of means,” he said.
Novruzov noted that the criminal case based on plenty of facts is still under investigation and Haqiqatpour is to be arrested immediately once he enters Azerbaijan.
