Azerbaijan main join Islamic anti-terror coalition
Azerbaijan and Tajikistan may join the Saudi-led anti-terror coalition, AzVision.az reports citing the Arabic newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat.
Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Saudi Arabia Rasim Rzayev confirmed that Azerbaijan is considering a proposal by Saudi Arabia.

“Azerbaijan supports Riyadh`s efforts to combat terrorism and it meets the interest of our country. Thus, we are considering joining the Islamic coalition,” he said.

According to the newspaper, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon will meet with Saudi Arabia`s King Salman in January to join bilateral cooperation in the fight against terrorism, in particular, Tajikistan’s opportunity to join the Islamic coalition.

Saudi Arabia said Tuesday that 34 nations have agreed to form a new Islamic anti-terror coalition with a joint operations center based in the kingdom’s capital, Riyadh. More than 10 Muslim countries supported the coalition.
