Belarus, Azerbaijan will be always stronger together
2015 was a productive year for Azerbaijani-Belarusian relations. President Ilham Aliyev`s visit to Belarus was the main event of last year, Belarusian ambassador to Azerbaijan Gennady Ahramovich told reporters on Dec.22.
According to the ambassador, a large business forum was held in Minsk as part of President Aliyev`s visit to Belarus.

The two countries signed documents to strengthen strategic partnership, said Ahramovich. “Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko attended the opening ceremony of the first-ever European Games in Azerbaijan. This sporting event has become a true symbol of kindness,” he noted.

The diplomat went on to add that 2015 was a productive year in terms of Azerbaijani-Belarusian interparliamentary relations.

Recalling the recent presidential election in Belarus and parliamentary election in Azerbaijan, the ambassador said that Belarus has sent a large observation mission for the parliamentary election in Azerbaijan. “Despite international pressure, the election was held in an open and transparent environment.”

The economic success forms the basis of relations between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan, Ahramovich said, noting that the two countries will be always stronger together.

Over the first ten years of 2015, the trade turnover between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan accounted to $260 million, and the figure is likely to reach $330 million in the near future, said the ambassador.
