Armenians were asking me about Karabakh - Azerbaijani ex-inmate
"I reunited with my family after spending five months in the detention facility of Armenia
Mikayilov is from Georgia’s Bolnisi district.

He said they were holding him in a one-person cell and being treated badly for being Azerbaijani.

“Of course, they considered me as an enemy, asking about Karabakh, Azerbaijan. I told them, I am a Georgian citizen. However, I love Azerbaijan as I love my state. Sometimes I used to answer them in an angry manner as I was fed up with their questions. They were telling me someone had purposefully sent you to Armenia. Then they indicted me on crossing the border,” he noted.

Mikayilov said, sometimes he was allowed to communicate with family members by telephone.

He added, he intends to undergo medical examination in Tbilisi. “Maybe they put poison in my food. I`m afraid of any health complications.”

Mikayilov expressed gratitude to the Georgian embassy in Armenia for its attempts for his release.

“I also would like to thank the governor of Kvemo Kartli region and the district authorities for their care and attention to my family”, he said.
