Parliament adopts appeal on occasion of Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis
Azerbaijan’s parliament has adopted an appeal on the occasion of December 31 – the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis.

The appeal was read out by Vice Speaker Bahar Muradova.

The appeal reads that December 31 - the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis, the day that has entered the new history of Azerbaijan as a manifestation of our people’s dream of national integrity, emphasizes the necessity of creating a unity of tongue, belief, and action among our compatriots living all over the world.

“In light of the Azerbaijani diaspora which was founded by national leader Heydar Aliyev and has grown in strength over the last 24 years, this day of solidarity gets its power from our people’s will to gather all its strength together and has founded the process of our compatriots living all over the world densely gathering around the mentality of national identity. Having faced severe trials and dilemmas in the early years of its independence, Azerbaijan managed to preserve its sovereignty thanks to the exceptional contributions made by national leader Heydar Aliyev. Having returned from the verge of a collapse, Azerbaijan was able to address all the challenges and achieve social stability. The creative pursuant of the Heydar Aliyev’s path, President Ilham Aliyev, led the Republic of Azerbaijan to become the dominant state in the South Caucasus and to become the common pride of all the Azerbaijanis around the world,” said the appeal.

The appeal also mentions the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and occupied lands, calling on the world Azerbaijanis to stick together more and more. The appeal was put to the vote and approved.
