Armenian army lost 143 servicemen in 2015
In 2015, Armenian armed forces violated the ceasefire regime with Azerbaijan a total of 8,830 times on various parts of the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops.

In 2015, 714 ceasefire violations were recorded in January, 625 – in February, 682 – in March, 575 – in April, 728 – in May, 738 – in June, 819 – in July, 836 – in August, 828 – in September, 695 – in October, 773 – in November and 817 – in December.

Last year, the ceasefire was violated most on the Aghdam (2,597 times) and Fuzuli (1,726 times) parts of the frontline.

In 2015, the Armenian army used large-caliber mortars and machine guns to shell the positions of Azerbaijani armed forces. Armenian military made a number of diversion attempts along the Azerbaijani-Armenian border and contact line of troops. All attempts of Armenian troops were prevented by Azerbaijani armed forces.

Last year, Armenians also opened fire at civilians residing in Azerbaijan’s border villages.

The Armenian side lost 143 servicemen and 100 more have been wounded as a result of heavy blows inflicted by Azerbaijani armed forces.

Last year, 11 Armenian drones that tried to fly over the positions of Azerbaijani army were destroyed by Azerbaijani air forces.

During the reporting year, an Armenian serviceman surrendered to the Azerbaijani side.

The Azerbaijani side lost 19 servicemen in skirmishes with Armenians last year.
