Fourteen members of the criminal group were arrested along with the group’s ringleader Taleh Baghirov. All 14 detainees were arrested for four months as a preventive measure against them.
Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office has initiated criminal cases. Karimov said that the period of the administrative detention has expired.
Atamali Nur, who calls himself an akhoond (cleric who leads prayers) of the Juma mosque in Nardaran township of Baku, is also among the released, the resident said.
Karimov went on to add that 57 people administratively arrested in connection with the Nardaran events have been recently released.
