Azerbaijan to apply new penalties against sellers deceiving buyers
Azerbaijan is set to increase the number of conditions creating responsibility over the deceiving of buyers by sellers, apply new drastic measures and also define individuals
This is reflected in Article 446 of the newly adopted Code of Administrative Offences.

Sellers or service providers will now be held accountable for even a small amount (up to AZN 40) of deceiving in the size, weight, account and even consumption feature and quality of goods. Individuals will be fined AZN 350 to 500, officials AZN 1,500 to 2,000, and legal entities AZN 4,000 to 6,000.

In the effective code, penalties apply to officials and legal entities only, from AZN 1,000 to 1,500 and from AZN 4,000 to 5,000.

The new Code of Administrative Offences presented by the Azerbaijani president was adopted by the parliament on December 29 and will enter into force on May 1, 2016.
