Pakistan to host 4-nation meeting on ending Afghan war
Afghanistan, Pakistan, China and the United States will hold talks in Pakistan`s capital on reviving negotiations to end the Afghanistan war.
Afghan Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmad Shekib Mostaghni says representatives meeting Monday will discuss a "road map for peace talks." He said Saturday that Kabul`s delegation will be led by Deputy Foreign Minister Hekmat Karzai.

The talks were agreed upon during a visit to Kabul last month by Pakistan`s army chief Gen. Raheel Sharif.

The talks do not include the Taliban, who have been battling the U.S.-backed government for nearly 15 years and have recently stepped up attacks.

Pakistan hosted a meeting of Kabul officials and Taliban representatives last summer, but the process collapsed after the announcement of the death of longtime Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar.
