The head of state extended his condolences to the family members of the poet and wished him patience.
State and government officials, MPs, intellectuals and relatives of the deceased poet attended the farewell ceremony held at Tezepir mosque.
Zalimkhan Yagub died of kidney failure on Jan.9.
He will be buried in the 1st Alley of Honor today.
